Report from Ron James:

Day 2
An early morning saw the bashers gathered at the public school in Parkes as we set off for another day of Bash Trekking. The drive across the flat western plains and the seemingly endless stretches of new green wheat was one of the most colourful sites for the day. Our bash notes for the morning route had been sabotaged and we ended up doing a six kilometre loop and ending back where we started with no idea where to head.

Thankfully the Mousketeers (Yes Mini & Mickey are here) helped us out with a spare set of notes and we were on the road again. The morning drive to Hillstone where we had lunch saw stretches of dirt road that were some 40 or 50 Klms long with out so much as a bend or curve. The country was so flat we believe we could see the curvature of the earth. It was after a few beers however.

Several road side stops broke up the day with demonstrations on how to build and fire an "Orange/apple" gun powered by hairspray no less. And a party stop at a pub in (small small town starting with "B") where we regaled the 35 locals with cocktails, Ice-cream from the icecreaminator (Yes a converted Mr Whippy Van) a blow up castle for the kids and plenty of handouts.

We continued on to our current destination of Hay with only a few minor problems such as Les not having enough lights and Darren "Raising the roof on the Motel". All in all a safe and happy day.

Time for a shower and wash some of the dust off so as we are ready for tomorrow and whatever it may bring.
As they say we are "Doing it for the Kids" but they never said we weren't aloud to enjoy it
Stay safe from all of us here on the Bash
